Unlike most other brands, none of our cookwood is kiln dried.
When wood is kiln dried, it is placed in an oven for many days or weeks.
This draws out nearly 100% of the woods moisture, removing the flavour and smell thats associated with the wood’s natural moisture content – it’s just one of the many ways we are dedicated to providing premium wood products!

How do you get all that flavour into the wood?
Well, first of all, we pressure treat it with preservatives, drill tiny holes into it, and then slowly pour nice smelling oils and additives into each log over the course of a few hours…erm…no… thats all crap.
The flavour comes from each log being cut from a premium natural source, only the finest logs are chosen to become Furtado farms cookwood, which is why our clients become ambassadors and friends.
Once you’ve had the good wood, there really is no other choice.
